If a student is going to be at LTC for a two year course, they can be invoiced for each academic term at a time rather than having to make a full payment for the total amount.
For particularly talented students who are experiencing financial difficulties we may after a full fact check, using our discretion, offer a discount or a bursary. We can only consider granting a scholarship once we have seen detailed current school reports from abroad and interviewed a candidate. We will be delighted to talk to you in detail about our programmes.
We are pleased to offer discounts to members of the same family and friends who choose to study at LTC at the same time, taking the same classes. This is again, at the discretion of the Principal. Please contact our Admissions department.
No, we are a non-selective tuition college. We welcome students who flourish in a smaller environment. We carry out an assessment test and an interview in order to place the students in correct sets and advise on the most suitable programmes. However, these assessments are not part of a selection process.
International students will require a minimum IELTS score of 4.0-4.5 for GCSE/IGCSE and 5.0 – 5.5 for A Level, otherwise they will struggle to participate in class. Students are expected to have a higher level of English for fast track options. Students entering our English programmes will need to take LTC’s own English exams.
GCSE and A level students will be required to take a subject assessment and provide copies of current school reports.
We are happy to accept both boys and girls from UK and abroad, between ages 14 to 19. Younger students are accepted during the months of July and August.

LTC offers flexibility and options of intensive study within a small group environment. Students can be with us any time from two weeks to a full academic programme.
For instance they could be with us for 3 years if they start with a language preparation course and then continue onto a standard GCSE or A level programme, or longer if they do both at LTC. Language students can join us any Monday throughout the year. Academic students can do a pre A level or pre GCSE course over 4, 8 or 12 weeks prior to September entry.
One year intensive and two year GCSE and A level students join in September or January, as long as their English is already at a strong pre-intermediate or intermediate level. They may wish to start with 4-12 weeks of intensive English during the summer first and take an IELTS exam before they enter the intensive one year programme to help them succeed academically.
Having extensively researched the area of virtual education and run a physical college for many years, we have created a blended model taking the best of both ‘worlds’. We capitalise on the experience of well-qualified tutors who are subject experts and have embraced the modern technology to provide an engaging environment and motivate students during every live lesson.
An interactive whiteboard has similar tools to an interactive whiteboard in a traditional classroom, every student can raise their hand to ask question, their screen can be shared and any assignments or completed homework uploaded and shared. There are various collaboration tools helping to nurture the sense of community. Regular assessments, grading, lesson recording, an online resource library – all help to achieve transparency and provide tools for achieving and monitoring progress.
Visas do not apply to our virtual classroom. However, if you are planning to visit the UK, please go to the government website https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/uk-visas-and-immigration which provides information and guidance on how to find out if you need a visa and how to apply for a visa.
LTC students go on to study at excellent schools and universities or simply stay in their own country to continue their education locally.
We only offer 1:1 support and tuition to ensure you are getting the full benefit of learning with us.
Mainstream subject tutors hold a PGCE Certificate and have taught in independent or state schools for many years, successfully preparing students for their GCSE, A level and IB examinations and Oxbridge entry. Some of them are Oxbridge graduates and examiners themselves.
Our English teachers hold current TEFL qualifications such as CELTA, DELTA or RSA certificates, and some also have a PGCE qualification (Post Graduate Certificate of Education). They have many years of experience in teaching international students from all over the world and are always keen to promote intercultural understanding among students, offering support whenever needed.
This depends on the selected course. Subject courses run over 4-6 hours per week per subject, depending on whether it is a fast track programme or a two year course, and whether it is a group or a one-to-one class.
We use a combination of student profiling, personal tutor groups, study skills sessions, one to one online meetings, a buddy system and online tools to guarantee that our students feel at home as soon as they join our courses. Students’ wellbeing is paramount at LTC.
The Principal, Academic Manager and subject tutors regularly discuss the progress of each student and parents receive monthly reports to give an accurate picture.
We recognise the need to keep our students motivated, well-disciplined and physically and mentally healthy.
Therefore, we encourage students to take part in a wide range of sports, arts and cultural activities. Students who already have a specialism are able to pursue their passion alongside their studies.
As our courses are online, you stay at home and enjoy the support of your family and friends during your studies at London Tutorial College.
Academic students follow the term dates, regularly updated, excluding school holidays during Christmas, Easter, summer and half term holidays.
Intensive English students are not bound by term dates but need to note that we are closed for all bank and public holidays in the UK and for one week at Christmas.
